Marching towards 100 years!

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Society is a non profit Italian American club on

8th Street in Verplanck, New York.

It was established in 1922 by a handful of immigrants from Calabria, Italy,

most of whom worked at the quarry in Verplanck.

The Mt.Carmel Society has grown from that small group of men

to a record number 135 members.

The mission of the Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is

to support our community through charitable work while honoring

 Italian traditions.

Throughout the year the Mt. Carmel Society holds several events:

Doo Wop Night, dinners, Kids Day  and the annual Italian Feast -

always the third weekend in July.

"The Feast" is our main source of funding and we look forward to hosting it every year.

We have the distinction of being the longest running

Feast in the Hudson Valley.

We are also the home of the World's Largest Tarantella!
